Martin Wassmer’s Spätburgunder 2015 has received a great review in this week’s Sunday Times Magazine.
Will Lyons talks about the increasing demand for Burgundian pinot noir and with that the increasing price tag that is associated with these French reds. Germany however is showing excellent value for money and especially in the Baden-Württemberg region where Spätburgunder (German for pinot noir) is flourishing.
The review read: “After a mere sniff of this moreish red from Markgräferland, you’ll realise why aficionados are making a fuss about German pinot noir. It has a satisfying spicy, cherry-and-plum-rich aroma, with a silky, medium-bodied finish.”
