New Producers: Bodegas Bocopa Joins Crush Wines
We are delighted to announce that the award winning winery Bodegas Bocopa, from Alicante, has joined the Crush Wines portfolio. Crush will be listing the multi award winning Laudum range, the Alcanta range and the aromatic white wine Marina Alta, which carries the prestigious accolade of Spain’s ‘most awarded white wine’. Commercial Manager, Emma Laval says, ‘Alicante has been a much overlooked in terms of quality wine production for Spain however we firmly believe that this emerging region is the one to watch with some truly exciting and innovative wines being produced.’
NEW for 2016 is La Joya
Crush worked closely with Bodegas Bocopa from vineyard, winery and blending through to design to develop La Joya, a blend of Monastrell and Syrah with grapes sourced from low yield, bush vines from Bocopa’s two leading vineyards. Aged in American and French oak for six months La Joya is packed with ripe berry fruit and subtle hint of spice.
Managing Director Chris Ellis says, ‘…when I first visited Alicante I was completely taken aback by the dedication and precision of the work carried out by Bocopa, it is second to none and truly evident in the quality of the wines they produce. We are thrilled to be bringing the hugely successful Bodegas Bocopa to the UK market.’ Bocopa are pioneers in the Alicante region for quality wine production but have also led the way in researching consumer buying habits to ensure that everything from the health of their vines, the blends through to design and packaging are innovative and creative. Most recently they have been awarded first place in the Wine and Spirit category at the highly acclaimed The Dieline Awards for Laudum Roble and its classical shaped column bottle. The Dieline Awards are an international design competition that recognises the world’s best consumer packaging design.
